Reproductive Health Care Access Legislation

Senator Brownsberger received many emails, like that found below, from constituents urging him to co-sponsor legislation to expand access to reproductive health care. He has signed on as a co-sponsor to each bill.

Dear Senator Brownsberger,

We have an opportunity to be a real leader in expanding sexual and
reproductive health care. In this new legislative session, I’m counting
on you to support legislation that ensures everyone in Massachusetts is
able to access the health care they need.

I urge you to co-sponsor the following legislation:

An Act Relative to Healthy Youth (filed by Senator Sal DiDomenico and
Representatives Jim O’Day and Paul Brodeur) – providing standards for
comprehensive sexuality education.

An Act Relative to Protecting Access to Confidential Health Care
(filed by Senator Karen Spilka and Representative Kate Hogan) –
removing barriers to care by enhancing patient privacy for patients
insured as dependents.

An Act Relative to Women’s Health and Economic Equity (filed by
Senator Harriette Chandler and Representatives Tom Sannicandro and John
Scibak) – protecting a woman’s ability to access the birth control
option that works best for her.

As your constituent, I strongly support An Act Relative to Healthy
Youth, An Act Relative to Protecting Access to Confidential Health
Care, and An Act Relative to Women’s Health and Economic Equity.

With the co-sponsorship deadline fast approaching, I hope you will
demonstrate your support for sexual health by co-sponsoring these
important bills.

Thank you for your time and for standing up for Massachusetts families.

You can find the text of the bills here: SD1189, SD1362, and SD1021.
