Preparing for Storm Surge

As the new year starts, the pieces may be coming together to pass my legislation to jump start the long term planning process to prepare for sea level rise and larger storms. It came out of the Environment committee last April but so far hasn’t moved out the Ways and Means Committee — the question has been how much money is needed to move the planning process forward. While that question can’t be answered precisely, I think people are getting more comfortable with that uncertainty. My hope is that we can attach a down payment to the bill and get it moving soon.
