I just learned that a House committee stripped the expanded Bottle Bill from the Jobs Bill.   This is after the Senate approved it and at least according to MASSPIRG  ” 77% of the public, 208 cities and towns, Governor Patrick, and a majority of legislators” support an expanded Bottle Bill.  I just called Robert …

Economic Development Conference Report approved.

The conference report the economic development bill has been filed. It includes a number of mostly small dollar measures to stimulate business and innovation and to connect people with jobs. It does include a sales tax holiday, but does not include the bottle bill.

Health Care Conference Report Filed

Last night, the conference committee on the health care cost control bill filed its report. Both branches are certain to approve the report later today.

Daly Field Bill Engrossed in the Senate

The Senate gave preliminary approval to the Daly Field bill today, including an amendment requiring an appraisal that should give some comfort to those concerned about the value received for the slice of field time that Simmons is able to reserve under the legislation.
