Uber and Lyft at Logan

Logan is a special case, but we are facing unacceptable congestion across the region and the fundamental problem is single-rider vehicle use. Right now, Uber and Lyft are part of the problem. However, they can be part of the solution.

Senate Passes Non-Binary Gender License Option & An Act to Reduce Traffic Fatalities

The Senate passed two bills on April 25. One would allow for an “X” gender designation on state IDs, while the other, sponsored by Senator Brownsberger, includes several road safety measures.

Electrifying public transportation

If we could electrify most vehicles and then make all power sources on the grid carbon neutral, we would make the transportation sector (airplanes aside) carbon neutral and much cleaner. How soon could that happen?

Better Bus Update

My overall sense is that the MBTA is moving forward thoughtfully with progressive changes in bus routing based on respectful engagement with the public and a principled analysis of all available data. Board approval of the first round of changes appears likely for this month.
