Heroin Epidemic
My wife and her friends, who see and feel the devastation first hand, have the right idea. A lot of these girls, mainly girls in our world, need a home, decent food, therapy yes, but more than anything they need isolation from the drug itself until they can be pronounced cured. And that takes a lot of time and a lot of commitment, something the mothers can provide if the resources are there.
Odds of Boston 2024
Will–here are a few sources that seem to indicate a 15% to 20% chance of Boston hosting the Olympics in 2024. The data is all was all available at the time of the USOC selection announcement – if new information is available, the odds may have changed.

My daughter goes to school over at the Obryant School and I am constantly astounded by how horrible the traffic patterns are in that area, which makes visiting the area for a school night or meeting not really inviting. Also, I’m not sure how I feel about later night closings for bars (or potential later closings) for bars.
NEMLEC: Lawless Law Enforcement
“Law Enforcement Councils” exist in many states to coordinate police activities across a region. Nearby, we have the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) that includes police departments in 58 communities in Massachusetts. This article in the Bay State Examiner describes an ACLU lawsuit to obtain records of SWAT team activities, which NEMLEC refuses to supply.
Senior Housing in Belmont
It should be possible for a percentage of Senior Housing to be set aside for working poor and the middle class. Presently people are transferring assets to their children to qualify for a place in senior housing. If the rules are not changed, I fear the Democrats will lose the support of the working class base.
