RE:                   Senate Bill 1958, An Act to restrict the use of certain pesticides around children

DATE:            January 15, 2014

I am writing in favor of S1958, An Act to restrict the use of certain pesticides around children.

This bill seeks to amend the Children and Family Protection Act by expanding the requirements that certain pesticides not be sprayed or used while children are present, and that adequate notification be given when pesticides are used, to include the following areas: property occupied by the department of children and families, facilities of the juvenile court, facilities of the department of youth services, and sports fields for town youth teams.

I urge the Committee to report this legislation favorably.

View testimony.
