The purpose of this meeting will be to provide the community with an update on the Cambridge-Arlington Improvements at Route 2 & Route 16 project. The Highway District 6 construction team and its contractor Newport will provide an overview of the construction operations scheduled for the summer of 2015. The meeting will provide these and other important details and all residents, abutters, local business owners, and interested commuters are encouraged to attend.

The 60 Acorn Park building is accessible for people with disabilities. MassDOT provides reasonable accommodations and/or language assistance free of change upon request (including but not limited to interpreters in American Sign Language and languages other than English, open and closed captioning for videos, assistive listening devices and alternative material formats, such as audio tapes, Braille and large print), as available.   1. Coming at you out of right-field again on an only somewhat-related issue, Andrew. Apologies if you’ve blogged about this elsewhere on the site:
    Can you share any news on the progress towards a planning study for the Fresh Pond Parkway/Mt. Auburn Street intersection?
    Many commuters from points west can envision a Route 2 underpass there that would allow for a friendlier multi-modal passage along Mt. Auburn Street -not to mention, faster and smoother Route 2 movement.

    1. Hi Aaron,

      DCR has not yet been able to issue the RFP for that study. Unfortunately, DCR has been particularly hard hit by the early retirement program and has lost some very senior people. We have received assurances that it will still happen but we are in a holding pattern for the moment.
