Mass Save in the Energy Bill

In a recent “ask me anything” town hall, I got a question about how I see Mass Save and recent proposals related to it. There has been a lot of concern recently about the high costs of energy and Mass Save is one contributing factor to those high costs. As explained briefly in the excerpted response below, I feel that Mass Save is a good program and recently proposed deep cuts go too far, but that a modest cut could reasonable.

See this post for more precise cost numbers further explored in this discussion on electric rates held with Elder Climate Action. Finally, see also my in-depth analysis of Mass Save and our building energy programs.

  1. Where are all the comments to Mass Save? Are they on Bluesky?

The Massachusetts Attorney General should investigate Bluesky for censorship, and state and local governments should refrain from using Bluesky and colluding with and profiting from this censorious platform until users who are right of center have their voice restored.

Yes, 90% of the posts on Bluesky are inanities and some art, but things are said there that can’t be left uncommented on. Silence can be perceived as agreement.

Bluesky is an echo chamber. Massachusetts state and local government should not choose a platform that reaches only a select and exclusive half of the Commonwealth.

I immediately appealed my suspension from Bluesky and haven’t seen a resolution and probably won’t, because the suspension is meritless. It is not hatespeech to say Hamas is morally culpable for the harm that befell the people used as their human shields. It is not hatespeech to point out the subjectivity of gender ideology and its political and commercial nexus.

    1. P.s., if I were on Bluesky now I would be moved to offer counterpoints to the seditionist, Socialist garbage littering the site around the massive undertaking by the men and women if ICE to fulfill their mandate because of a nihilistic and treasonous stand down at the border. That was the cruelty. Plus, the household costs of prewar tariffs, actions and operations are a happy premium to do what we can to give all of America’s children strength and security, so they may live free in a government of, by and for the people.
