Budget and Local Aid Updates

On Friday, the legislature approved the results of negotiations between the branches on the FY 25 Budget. The approved compromise now sits on the Governor’s desk for review.

Last week, the Senate Ways and Means Committee released its draft of the state budget for FY25. The Committee prepared the attached overview which I pass on to you with permission.

Many municipalities are unable to take advantage of the “lost revenue” provisions of the ARPA bill. This is due to federal policy.

We are pleased to announce that the state’s positive financial position combined with additional federal support has allowed the legislature to make new contributions to Watertown’s health, housing, and environmental programs.
