Panel studies science of sex offenders
Senator Brownsberger co-chairs the Special Commission to Reduce the Recidivism of Sex Offenders. The Boston Herald reports that the, “legislative commission tasked with reducing the rate at which sex offenders reoffend is “reviewing the science” about the best way to manage sex offenders ahead of a presentation Wednesday that may suggest changes to state law.” More on SORC can be found at http://commissiononsexoffenderrecidivism.com.
Some pols pushing to legalize pot before voters do
As reported by the Boston Herald, “Some state lawmakers say it’s high time Beacon Hill hashes out a bill to legalize and tax marijuana, or, if left to voters, risk repeating the awkward ballot-to-reality rollout that’s plagued the fledgling medical marijuana industry.”
Public Meeting Dec. 3: An Update on Logan Airplane Noise
Join the Belmont and Watertown representatives from the Logan Airport Community Advisory Committee on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:00 PM in the Board of Selectmen’s Meeting Room, Belmont Town Hall, to hear about recent action being taken to address airplane noise. Senator Brownsberger, State Representatives Jon Hecht and Dave Rogers, and staff for Congresswoman Katherine Clark will also attend.
Meeting Notes for 10/23/14 Comm. Ave. Green Line Public Meeting
Senator Brownsberger hosted a public meeting on October 23 at which MBTA personnel outlined a proposal to consolidate four Green Line stops along Commonwealth Avenue. The project would turn BU West, St. Paul, Babcock, and Pleasant into two fully accessible stations to help reduce travel times and improve safety.
