Last year, Senator Brownsberger hosted a similar forum on the state of the Green Line. More than 100 riders attended to voice their concerns about service and capacity issues. MBTA General Manager Dr. Beverly Scott attended, accompanied by a panel of MBTA personnel to answer questions and hear concerns from riders. Senator Brownsberger summarized the issues raised in a letter to MassDOT Secretary Davey. The MBTA responded in a letter that outlined current MBTA initiatives to improve service.

  • Transparency: A frank discussion about Green Line operations today, and what improvements are on the way.
  • Accessibility: Improvements recently made, and those under development, and what is to come.

“I am grateful for the attention MBTA top management is giving to improving the Green Line. Our forum in 2013 was an outstanding opportunity to hear from a full panel of MBTA personnel on capacity issues and solutions,” said Senator Brownsberger (D-Belmont). “I look forward to another opportunity this year to hear the progress being made to address service challenges and to give feedback to the MBTA.”
