This year’s Green Line Forum, will be held Wednesday, May 28, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Rabb Lecture Hall at the Copley Library. Dr. Scott and MBTA personnel will discuss the progress that has been made towards addressing concerns raised during last year’s event and update riders on new initiatives. Attendees will be able to ask questions and bring their concerns to the attention of senior MBTA staff.

Last year, Senator Brownsberger hosted a similar forum on the state of the Green Line. More than 100 riders attended to voice their concerns about service and capacity issues. MBTA General Manager Dr. Beverly Scott attended, accompanied by a panel of MBTA personnel to answer questions and hear concerns from riders. Senator Brownsberger summarized the issues raised in a letter to MassDOT Secretary Davey. The MBTA responded in a letter that outlined current MBTA initiatives to improve service.

2014 GREEN LINE IMPROVEMENTS PUBLIC FORUM
BOSTON (Friday, May 23, 2014) — A public forum outlining the progress being made to improve the Green Line will be hosted by State Senator Will Brownsberger and other elected officials on Wednesday, May 28 at 6:00 PM at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square, 700 Boylston Street, Rabb Lecture Hall.
MBTA personnel will give a presentation and accept questions from the public. Attendees will hear about short and long term thinking about ways to improve the Green Line:
- Speed: Reductions in travel time, especially along the surface.
- Frequency: Schedule adherence, and increases to the number of trains in service especially at rush hour.
- Capacity: Increases to the number of 3-car trains in service at rush-hour.
- Transparency: A frank discussion about Green Line operations today, and what improvements are on the way.
- Accessibility: Improvements recently made, and those under development, and what is to come.
Elected officials co-sponsoring the public meeting are State Senators Will Brownsberger (D-Belmont), Sonia Chang-Diaz (D-Boston), Cynthia Stone Creem (D-Newton), Sal DiDomenico (D-Everett), Pat Jehlen (D-Somerville); State Representatives Ruth Balser (D-Newton), Gloria Fox (D-Roxbury), Kevin Honan (D-Brighton), Jay Livingstone (D-Boston), Michael Moran (D-Brighton), Byron Rushing (D-Boston), Timothy Toomey (D-Cambridge); and Boston City Councilor Mark Ciommo (District 9).
