DCR Recreational Advisory: Temporary Path Closures Upper Charles Greenway in Watertown

WHAT:  Beginning on Monday, January 4, 2016 and continuing through Monday, February 15, 2016, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will institute temporary closures of sections of the Upper Charles Greenway Multi-Use Path between Galen Street and Bridge Street in Watertown for bridge and boardwalk reconstruction as a part of a path restoration program.

  • Users of the path are asked to utilize Pleasant Street in Watertown between Bridge Street and Conant Road or the southern portion of the Charles River Greenway as detours. A map detailing the recommended detours is attached.

WHERE:         Upper Charles Greenway, Multi-Use Path between Galen Street and Bridge Street in Watertown

WHEN:           Monday, January 4, 2016 – Monday, February 15, 2016

  1. Hi Andrew,

    I’m bemused that you listed this under Parks and Recreation. As a bicycle commuter I wouldn’t look for detour information under Environment. Could it also be listed under Transportation?
    Thanks.

    By the way, it would be nice if a small street sweeper/vacuum was used on the bike paths.
