MassDOT to Host Public Meetings on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement Project

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is hosting two public meetings on the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement Project:

Tuesday, July 17 at 6:30 PM

Wednesday, July 18 at 6:30 PM

40 Granite Street, Cambridge

MassDOT and project team staff will describe the Summer 2018 Construction Shutdown (July 26 – August 11) in detail, review detour routes, and respond to questions.

The same presentation will be delivered at both meetings.

The 2018 Construction Shutdown window is scheduled to begin on Thursday, July 26 and will continue for 15 ½ days until Saturday, August 11. During the shutdown, there will be significant service impacts to all modes of transportation along Commonwealth Avenue and the BU Bridge in the BU/Saint Paul Street/Cambridgeport neighborhoods and on I-90 (Mass Pike).

The following roads and services will be impacted:

  • I-90 (Mass Pike)
  • Commonwealth Avenue
  • BU Bridge
  • MBTA CT2 and 47 Bus Routes
  • MBTA Green B Line
  • MBTA Commuter Rail Framingham/Worcester Line
  • Amtrak Lakeshore Limited Line (Chicago)
