Aid for Local Schools

There is a lot of momentum in this legislative session to change our local school aid formula and provide more aid to local schools. The new math will work differently for each of the three communities that I represent – Belmont, Boston and Watertown.

Regional Rail

I am increasingly convinced that the state should make a massive investment in upgrading its regional rail network. The decision is not imminent, but I’m interested in starting to get feedback from my constituents.

Uber and Lyft at Logan

Logan is a special case, but we are facing unacceptable congestion across the region and the fundamental problem is single-rider vehicle use. Right now, Uber and Lyft are part of the problem. However, they can be part of the solution.

Listening Session on Education Funding

Senator Jason Lewis, Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Education, will co-host with Senator Brownsberger a listening session to learn more about the needs of schools in Watertown, Belmont and Boston.

Senate Passes Non-Binary Gender License Option & An Act to Reduce Traffic Fatalities

The Senate passed two bills on April 25. One would allow for an “X” gender designation on state IDs, while the other, sponsored by Senator Brownsberger, includes several road safety measures.
