Clean Energy

I’ve recently received a number of form emails as reprinted below.

I am a strong advocate for energy conservation and for investment in the development of new clean energy technologies. Please see generally this thread for more on my legislative and personal work in this area.

I am writing today to ask you to stand strong for renewable energy and energy efficiency in our state. Clean energy is not only an appropriate response to climate change, it also benefits our state’s energy prices, jobs, and economic development.

The Koch brothers and other dirty energy allies (including the American Legislative Exchange Council) have spent the last few months pouring their money into efforts to line their own pockets by blocking clean energy incentives–even going so far as to attempt to punish homeowners who outfit their own homes with solar panels, forcing them to pay surtax on selling their unneeded energy back to electric utilities.

I find these practices abhorrent, and against the interests of our state. These special interests are fighting for their own profits, not for the environmental and economic benefits that our state could enjoy with a clean energy future.

Please, fight back against these attacks by protecting our state’s clean energy standards.
