Transparency on the Olympics Bid

Representatives Mike Moran and Aaron Michlewitz have filed legislation that would create a state level commission to oversee the Olympics bid process. I am very open to the idea of an Olympics in Boston; I think their initiative is timely and helpful and I have signed on as a cosponsor.

Storm Updates from Department of Public Safety

Legislation to repeal mandatory minimum sentences

Many constituents, like the one whose e-mail is in this post, encourage Senator Brownsberger to co-sponsor legislation repealing mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses. The Senator has sponsored this legislation in the past and has signed on as a co-sponsor this session.

Lyme Disease Treatment Coverage

Senator Brownsberger received many emails like the one in this post encouraging him to co-sponsor SD985, An Act relative to Lyme Disease treatment coverage. In response to these requests, Senator Brownsberger has signed on to co-sponsor this important bill.

Senior Housing in Belmont

It should be possible for a percentage of Senior Housing to be set aside for working poor and the middle class. Presently people are transferring assets to their children to qualify for a place in senior housing. If the rules are not changed, I fear the Democrats will lose the support of the working class base.
