Be advised, more lane restrictions upcoming on the Bowker:
MassDOT TRAFFIC ADVISORY: BOWKER OVERPASS – UPCOMING LANE RESTRICTIONS
Effective Tuesday, Oct. 14, the Storrow Drive eastbound offramp for the Fenway, Boylston Street, and the Longwood Medical and Academic Area, across the the Bowker Overpass will be closed between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The closure will be daily through Friday, Oct. 17; on Saturday, Oct. 18, the closure will be in effect between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. The closure will allow for the installation of concrete barrier required to implement the long-term lane restrictions and stage II demolition of the concrete deck.
Associated lane restrictions will also be in effect on Beacon Street and Commonwealth Avenue in both directions under the bridge during these times.
The lane restrictions are part of a $12.3 million project to make steel repairs and replace the bridge deck on the Bowker Overpass. The project is expected to be complete in the summer of 2016.
