RE: S596, An Act relative to eligibility for cooperative housing corporations

I am writing in opposition to S596 (and H1143), An Act relative to cooperative housing corporations.
Cooperative corporations seek members who are interested in living in cooperatives and participating in the activities of that community. While subject to Fair Housing laws and regulations, these cooperatives should be free to choose new residents who are compatible in interests with the current members.
I hope that the Committee will give an unfavorable report to these bills.
