Open Enrollment for Medicare
General Open Enrollment for Medicare begins October 15 and ends December 7 for coverage beginning in 2027. SHINE counselors can assist in enrollment. To connect with a SHINE counselor or clinic, enrollees can reach out to their local senior center, their Aging Service Access Point (ASAP), or Boston’s Age Strong. As noted below, OB3 will impact Medicare coverage for certain immigrant groups.
Changes to Medicare Immigrant Coverage
Changes were made to Medicare coverage for immigrants in OB3 (the 2025 major federal tax and policy law known as the One Big Beautiful Bill). This means coverage for certain lawfully present immigrants is scheduled to be terminated in January or February 2027. Our office will update this page as soon as more information becomes available.
