With the support of colleagues in the House and Senate, Senator Brownsberger passed an amendment to the supplemental budget that added representatives for Arlington, Belmont, Watertown and other communities to the MassPort Community Advisory Committee. Although the FAA has control over air traffic, MassPort controls airport operations and the inclusion of Arlington, Belmont and Watertown on the CAC will ensure that our communities have a seat at the table.
Accountability for the MBTA
The central recommendation of the Governor’s MBTA task force was greater accountability for the MBTA. I agree — the management team needs direct accountability to the Governor. That accountability will give the team the strength it needs to sharpen its focus and make change happen.

Senator Brownsberger is sponsoring a Senior CharlieCard Day on Wednesday, May 6th, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Watertown Senior Center, 31 Marshall Street Watertown, MA 02472. Seniors age 65 or older can save a trip to the MBTA offices in Downtown Boston and apply for your Senior CharlieCard at the Watertown Senior Center on this one day.

My wife and her friends, who see and feel the devastation first hand, have the right idea. A lot of these girls, mainly girls in our world, need a home, decent food, therapy yes, but more than anything they need isolation from the drug itself until they can be pronounced cured. And that takes a lot of time and a lot of commitment, something the mothers can provide if the resources are there.
City of Boston Student Housing Report
The City of Boston released this report on student housing that contains information about the size of the student population in neighborhoods across the city. Even though students are increasingly being housed on campus, they will continue to be a significant presence in our neighborhoods for years to come.
