This interview stands out as most informative and thought-provoking. Senator Brownsberger’s facility with topics ranging from drug treatment policy in the context of the criminal legal system to environmental reforms in a still immature policy and technology context deepened my understanding of these topics and reinforced my appreciation for the high caliber of representation Massachusetts residents enjoy in the Legislature. I greatly enjoyed this interview. It was insightful, reflective and briefly funny — when you told the Montana story: “we don’t have any of those.” I’ve supported you since your first run for Selectman. I take a little satisfaction in recognizing from the start that that you would be a dedicated, very intelligent, and excellent public servant. One of the first things I noticed about you was how unmaterialistic you were — your sparsely furnished living room spoke volumes. You’ve always been in office for the right reasons.
Senator Brownsberger: It looks like it will be up to us on the local/state level to organize “radical resistance” to the shameful debacle that is taking place in our nation’s capital. Our (MA) US senators are long at naming the issues but short of providing leadership for us, as individuals and groups, to stop this destructive march toward totalitarianism. You have already latched onto the state’s role in supporting environmental protection which is under the axe in DC. How can we help? Are the feds already leaning on MA to provide personal information from the IRS, Soc. Security, etc., on the undocumented to ICE– or on T’s Enemies List (to Musk? to the IRS)? How can we help save our beloved country from becoming a global pariah? PLEASE let us know what we can DO. Thank you for serving MA.
