Alewife Updates — Bikepath from Belmont to Alewife
Bids were opened yesterday (October 14) for the bikepath that will run from Brighton Street in Belmont through Alewife station to Somerville.
State Budget Woes — Fall 2009
The Governor and the legislature are circling uncomfortably around the issue of how much to cut the present fiscal year’s budget and whether or not the cuts must affect local aid. Next year’s budget is also looking grim
RMV restores license renewal notices . . . in electronic form
As part of Governor Deval Patrick’s reform plan to make transportation agencies more accountable to commuters, the Registry of Motor Vehicles is reinstating courtesy notices for driver’s license and MA ID renewals that were discontinued last December.
Pan Flu and Civil Rights
Public health officials have long understood the potential dangers of a new flu virus and have for several years been advocating for a bill (House 108 in this session) that would strengthen our readiness for this emergency. This is a bill that I support and it takes on greater urgency given the emergence of swine flu.
Health care proxies — is there a need for stronger laws?
