I am writing to urge you to support legislation to appoint an interim Senator to fill Senator Kennedy’s seat. This appointment in no way interferes with the election process that is already underway.
My response to the critics who say that such a move is political is:
“Of course it’s political. The people of Massachusetts have consistently and overwhelmingly voted to put Democrats in the State Legislature and in Congress because they represent more fully the values and ideals of voters in our State. Please exercise your political muscle and ensure that Massachusetts is represented by two Democratic Senators at this historic time in our country.”
