Senator Brownsberger is excited to invite you to participate in the 14th Annual Charles River Cleanup to be held on Earth Day, Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Senator Brownsberger and his staff will once again organize a region of the Charles River in Allston, Brighton and Watertown. Specifically, we are seeking volunteers to join us to pick up trash along the shores of the river between Galen Street, Watertown and Eliot Bridge, Allston on the south side of the river and in Watertown on the north side of the river between Farwell Street and Arsenal Street.
This is always a fun opportunity for people of all ages to spend some time enhancing the beauty of the shores of the Charles River and surrounding open spaces. We will provide free t-shirts, gloves, trash bags, cleanup supplies, and snacks to all volunteers who register before March 14, 2013. Please bring a reuseable water bottle to stay hydrated.
If you would like to register to participate in the Cleanup as a group or individually in the region described above, please contact Michael Buckley at michael.buckley@masenate.gov or by calling Senator Brownsberger’s State House office at 617-722-1280.
Feel free to share this flyer with folks throughout the Charles River Watershed who may be interested in participating.
Senator Brownsberger also welcomes volunteers to stop by the day of the Cleanup at two locations: Artesani Playground on Soldiers Field Road in Brighton and Dealtry Pool at 138 Pleasant Street in Watertown. We will have extra gloves and trash bags available for those who arrive at one of these two locations on April 20th.
We look forward to seeing you on Earth Day as we improve the Charles River and work towards a sustainable environment for all!
