Four part-time unpaid internships in my State House office will be available for the summer of 2011. Internships are open to rising high school juniors and seniors and to all college students. Each internship will require a commitment of 10-12 hours a week in the office with potential additional research work outside scheduled hours.
Applications are due by March 1, 2011. A cover letter and resume should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to Rep. Will Brownsberger, Room 276, State House, Boston, MA 02133. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis starting in February and applicants will be notified of their status by April 5.
Legislative internships offer students a wide variety of experiences including issue research, constituent service, legislative work and budget tracking. Daily seminars on different aspects of state government are scheduled by the House.
Spring student internships are available on a more flexible basis and can be explored by contacting the addresses above.
Persons past college age may be able to arrange additional non-office internships focused on policy development. The application contacts are the same as above, but there is no set schedule. We can almost always use help from qualified people.
