Belmont Citizen-Herald
Endorsement: Will Brownsberger for state representative

The choice is clear.

If you are a Republican, you will probably vote for Libby Firenze because you want more Republicans in the State House.

But if you are more concerned about getting the most effective representation for Belmont in the State House, you should vote for Will Brownsberger.

Hard-working, highly educated and deeply committed to public service, Brownsberger will be a great asset to Belmont in the Legislature. (Belmont Citizen-Herald)

Letter: Yes to Brownsberger for his school stance
As a member of the Belmont School Committee, I have worked with Will Brownsberger throughout his nine years as a selectman to strengthen support for our school system and to address public education issues at the regional and statewide level. Voters who want an articulate, hardworking and persuasive advocate for public education to represent Cambridge should support Will's candidacy for state representative in the 24th Middlesex District. Letter: Another Brownsberger voter
Several years ago I was appointed to the Traffic Advisory Committee because I saw the Trapelo Road/Belmont Street Corridor as the raging monster it was. The corridor was a real threat to my kids and all the children who had to cross this highway to get to the Butler School. We brought our concerns to the then-current Board of Selectmen, and Will Brownsberger did not hesitate to speak out in support of our children with a proposal to allocate a significant amount of pavement management money to our cause. Our charge was to make it safer for kids to get to the Butler School, and that is exactly what we did with the neckdown at Hawthorne Street and the raised crosswalk on White Street. Since then, more traffic calming has been implemented all over Belmont.

Campaign forum: Will Brownsberger - State Representative
If you are reading this column, you are someone like me who cares where our community is headed.

There is a good chance that we have talked. I have served in local government for over 10 years and, over the past 10 months, as I have campaigned to be your next state representative, I have walked every block in this district and have knocked on over 10,000 doors.

If we haven't talked already, I hope that we will. As your state representative, I want to know you and to represent your needs and perspectives. (Belmont Citizen-Herald)

Campaign forum: Will Brownsberger - State Representative
Over the past 10 months, I have had hundreds of conversations with voters in Arlington, Belmont and Cambridge.

Many voters, in each community, have talked to me about their frustration with rising property tax bills. And many more have expressed concern about the adequacy of local services - roads, education for their children, police protection.

As a three-term selectman, I understand the challenges, the frustrations and the great importance of local government: Because of limited state aid, local officials have been forced to place painful choices before the voters - more taxes or less services. (Belmont Citizen-Herald)
