The legislature today approved final Chapter 90 funding for the coming fiscal year. The average increase in aid is 29%, providing additional amounts for each of my communities.

These funds are available for general road reconstruction and maintenance purposes at the discretion of the community.

The apparently final amounts, according to detailed spreadsheet provided by the Joint Transportation Committee, are as follows:

Community FY2011 FY2012 est.
Arlington 609,498 783,973
Belmont 411,639 532,410
Cambridge 1,995,139 2,571,729

We can expect speedy approval from the Governor.

An earlier post provides additional program background.

  1. Excellent new Will – given the number of potholes this year, the increase sounds about right!
