About Will
Will Brownsberger has a broad perspective
based on deep experience in public policy, law, finance,
and technology.
He is dedicated to community and is currently
serving in his third term as a Belmont selectman. A
hallmark of Will's tenure as Selectman has been his
ability to take on complex issues, work with people
of diverse views to build a consensus for action, and
move forward on important issues. Will's financial acumen
and strong analytical and problem solving skills have
made him a particularly effective public official.
He is a seasoned advocate who cares deeply
for the people and causes that he represents. He is
currently a practicing defense attorney and previously
served as a Massachusetts Assistant Attorney General.
He is well-respected by his peers and was recently awarded
the Paul J. Liacos Award for commitment to protecting
the rights of indigent criminal defendants.
He is someone who strives to see the big
picture and define a vision for change. He teaches and
does research on substance abuse and criminal justice
policy issues. He has been called upon by community
leaders and legislators in Massachusetts and across
the U.S. to give expert advice on public policy matters
related to substance abuse and criminal justice.
Will is ready to serve Arlington, Belmont
and Cambridge and to take on a broader role to effect
positive change at the State level.
